Description Taormina Orange is a citrus that refuses to stay bright. Anne Flipo composed it for the Tom Ford Private Blend line in 2026, taking Sicilian blood orange and green mandarin and grounding them in oakmoss and patchouli instead of the usual clean musk. The opening is tart and slightly bitter, cardamom giving the citrus an edge. Underneath, the mossy base does something most orange fragrances never attempt: it puts shade under the fruit. Wearers describe the result as rich and sun-warmed rather than simply fresh. How It Differs From Neroli Portofino Neroli Portofino is the sparkling one. Neroli, citrus and amber, clean and breezy from the first spray to the last, and the Private Blend citrus most people already know. Taormina Orange is the darker cousin. Bitter orange and orange blossom over oakmoss and patchouli, so the fruit sits on earth rather than air. Choosing between them: take Neroli Portofino for heat, holidays and the cleanest possible citrus. Take Taormina Orange when you want citrus that still works after sunset, or in a room where a bright cologne would feel slight. Fragrance Pyramid Top: Blood orange, green mandarin, lime, cardamom Heart: Bitter orange, orange blossom, floral notes Base: Musk, patchouli, oakmoss Performance Longevity: Realistically 4 to 6 hours on skin, and noticeably shorter on some people. Sillage: Moderate. Generous for the first half hour, then close to the body. Projection: An arm's length early, then personal space. An honest word on performance: opinions split here, and the low end of the range is low. Several wearers report it going faint after two or three hours, which is short for the price of the bottle. Natural citrus does this, and the mossy base is what carries it as long as it does, but you should know that before committing to a full bottle rather than after. Best Occasions & Season Spring and summer first, and it holds up better than most citrus fragrances on a mild autumn day thanks to the moss. Suited to work, daytime and easy social wear. Unisex, with nothing in the composition that skews to one side. Skip it for formal evenings when you want weight and presence. Concentration & Provenance Concentration: Eau de Parfum Perfumer: Anne Flipo House: Tom Ford, Private Blend collection Year: 2026 Try Before You Commit This is the rare fragrance where sampling is not optional advice. Longevity varies more than usual between wearers, so the only way to know which end of the range your skin lands on is to wear it for a day. The 1mL decant is $13.99, the 5mL $38.49 and the 10mL $67.99, each hand-poured from a sealed retail bottle, and the 1.7 oz bottle is $259.99. 100% Authentic Every Venba decant is hand-poured from a factory-sealed bottle, never diluted, never mixed. Private Blend fragrances are built as unisex, and a bitter-orange-and-moss composition is about as neutral as perfumery gets. How long does it last? Around 4 to 6 hours for most wearers, and less on dry skin. Spraying onto clothing and applying after moisturiser both help. Is it just another orange cologne? No. The oakmoss and patchouli base gives it a depth that most citrus colognes do not have, which is why it reads as a fragrance rather than a refresher. How does it compare to Neroli Portofino? Neroli Portofino is cleaner and brighter; Taormina Orange is earthier and more bitter. If you own Neroli Portofino, this is a complement rather than a replacement.
