Description Sun Emperors is Ex Nihilo's saffron-and-patchouli tribute to Doha, made for its boutique there. Released in 2023 by the Paris house and composed by Jordi Fernández , it opens on bright saffron, turns darker through jasmine and tobacco, then settles on Indonesian patchouli, akigalawood, benzoin and Haitian vanilla. The house describes it as a new, luminous take on patchouli. Wearers find it warm, spicy and woody, only slightly sweet, and far darker than the fresher Ex Nihilo scents such as Blue Talisman. Scent Character Spicy : 43% Fresh : 29% Woody : 14% Floral : 14% Translation: saffron leads, and patchouli and woods carry the rest of the wear. The brighter side comes from the saffron opening and the jasmine; the vanilla softens the base without turning it gourmand.
